Today we are sliding into our loose pants and baggy shirts with the sumptuous scent of turkey and trimmings drifting from the kitchen. But I want to talk about yesterday.
Yesterday, November 21, 2012, was the 40th annual World Hello Day. Did you miss it? No reminder popped up on your calendar?
The concept is simple – greet 10 people. That’s it. Anyone can do it. Simply greet 10 people as your demonstration of the importance of personal communication for preserving peace. Who can’t get on board for that? Personally and through my work at A Woman’s Place (AWP), I am all about some peace.
I do realize that greeting 10 people in person may seem like a foreign concept these days, what with our commitment to online communications and social media (and yes, I’m acutely aware of the irony that I’m sharing World Hello Day via a blog post). I say try it – or at least do both.
Now I’m a lover of music. I enjoy a good soundtrack and sometimes even distract myself during my day by wondering, “What song could accompany this moment?” So, in celebration of World Hello Day, I offer this soundtrack.
Enjoy – and hello!
