Wow. Election Day came and went. The people of our country have chosen our path. My experience of helping to educate others, expressing my opinions, and encouraging my fellow Lock Haven students to vote, was an amazing one. The commercials that told us every vote counts, well, I believe they were correct. I feel good that I was able to successfully inspire some to vote who might not have, and others who weren’t sure who to vote for, to figure out the right candidate for them. And those who said they weren’t going to vote because they didn’t like either candidate were spotted at the polls on campus casting their vote, yay!
From my first blog entry in August, to my last one today, I feel more confident than ever before, that Americans care about our country. Going “FORWARD!” the president needs our help, and I cannot wait to see what everyone in America, myself included, can do to help him make this country thrive.
I started this series with the assumption that by the end, I would have educated and celebrated, but it does not end here. The best way I can explain this realization, is by a quote from our own president, “It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we are today, but we have just begun. Today we begin in earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave our children is just a little bit better than the one we inhabit today.”*
So that’s it for this election, but it’s not over,
