Feminist. Advocating social, political, legal, and economic rights for women equal to those of men. Rights for women. Equal to those of men. Not better. Not worse. Rights for women equal to those of men.
Several months ago I came across a wonderful piece published on The Root by Byron Hurt called Why I Am a Male Feminist. In his words, “Not only does feminism give women a voice, but it also clears the way for men to free themselves from the stranglehold of traditional masculinity. When we hurt the women in our lives, we hurt ourselves, and we hurt our community, too.”
The message is simple, so I won’t bog it down with lots of words
Rights for women equal to those of men. Embrace it.
What can you do to achieve equality today?
Equality: A Woman’s Place believes each and every one of us must collaborate to create a new society based in equal power and rights.*
