A father’s day consists
of little triumphs and sacrifices
for the household
who knows him as Dad
No time in the day
for shallow conquest
to impress
himself
or acquaintances
who don’t really care;
just little deeds
to feed the needs
of his family
Such is the day of a man
who understands
that who they want to believe he is,
is more than he can ever be,
but who he always will be to them
And therefore he must just stand
for all his family needs to be
inspired to be;
secure in the presence of his love,
comfortable that they are safe
because of the care and effort
which comprises
a father’s day
