Eat Dessert First – It’s Healthy!

As I woman, there’s no better time for me to think about my health than during National Women’s Health Week. I rest, exercise, and take time for myself. But what should I eat?  According to a number of different studies, we should be eating chocolate!

That’s right ladies – let us eat chocolate!

I’m writing this with a piece of chocolate melting on my tongue right now. Well-researched writing is very important.

Here’s what the studies say:

For those of us who have kids, another study suggests that moms who ate chocolate daily during their pregnancy were better able to handle stress. And their babies were happier. And since it helps protect your skin against UV rays, why not have a little bite?

I could continue on about the scent bringing you peace and the serotonin shaking you out of your funky mood. (Maybe you’ve abandoned this blog post to go searching for chocolate.) However, I should probably go through some of the “fine print.”

Stick to healthy chocolate with at least 70% cocoa.

We all know that there is fat and sugar, so limit yourself to 7 ounces per week.

And, if you are munching on your chocolate around others, be prepared to share.

National Chocolate Chip Day (May 15) falls during National Women’s Health Week. Consider this my call to action – celebrate both and celebrate yourself… with some tasty chocolate. It’s healthy to Eat Dessert First!
