|The leaves have changed color and are falling off the trees, there is frost on my windshield every morning, and the days are growing shorter…the holiday season has begun.
With Thanksgiving less than three weeks away, I would like to take a moment to thank you, our loyal supporter, for the difference you have made in the Bucks County community.
Whether you support the organization through monetary donations, donations of items from our Wish List, volunteerism, or advocacy, your kindness, generosity, and commitment to social change has made a significant impact in the movement to make Bucks County a safer place to live and work.
The holiday season can be particularly difficult for families in crisis. As you prepare to celebrate this festive time I ask that you keep A Woman’s Place and the individuals we serve in mind.
Last year, AWP provided services to more than 4,100 individuals in the community, a 13% increase from the previous year. The greatest gift that you can give anyone is the gift of safety, and there are so many ways to do that.
For those that would like to make a financial donation, it is as easy as clicking here.
Gift cards are also extremely helpful, especially at this time of year. They allow the organization to empower the individuals we serve to shop for household items and even gifts for their children, as opposed to handing them something that was selected by someone else. They can be mailed to A Woman’s Place, P.O. Box 299, Doylestown, PA 18901 or dropped off at our Administration building, call our main number, 215.343.9241 for directions.
We also have a holiday party for our clients in early December. At this event, the children are able to “shop” for gifts for their mothers and wrap them. For more information on how to contribute to this event, please contact Jenny Salisbury, Development Director, at 215.343.9241 x108 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is important to remember that every gift, no matter the size or type, matters. It is through the generosity of you, and other supporters like you, that AWP is able to continue to provide the programs and services that are so important in our community.
Again, I would like you to know how thankful the entire staff of AWP, the individuals we serve, and I am to know that you support us and the vision that we will one day live in a society where all individuals are safe in their intimate and familial relationships and have the space to thrive and develop to their full potential.
I wish a very joyous holiday season.
With sincerest thanks,
Donna J. Byrne
