Volunteering with your children is a simple way to teach your children difficult concepts like compassion, empathy, tolerance, gratitude and social responsibility. Make volunteering with your children more of a priority with simple activities. Here are three ways to remind your children to give back:
- Donate Clothing—Teach your children about the importance of giving warmth to the needy. Collect clothing items to donate together and make volunteering a bonding experience. Clothing donations are accepted at our thrift store, In Full Swing, 225 W. State St., Doylestown, PA, Monday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Donate Wish List Items—There is always something needed by women and their children when they leave their home for the safety of our shelter. Print out the Wish List to take along when you go shopping with your children or help them order online at Amazon Smile. Not only do you provide Wish List item(s), Amazon Smile also donates 0.5% of your purchase to A Woman’s Place.
- Fundraiser Walk—Join our 5th annual Race to Empower 5K & 1 Mile Fun Walk. Make it a family affair and register the whole family as a team. Explain to your children the importance of being active and healthy while supporting a cause.
The more fun kids have, the more they will volunteer, and the more flourishing our world will become.
