May is National Family Wellness month. What does that mean? We think of wellness as relating to individuals being whole and healthy but our families wellbeing is just as important. At the end of the day, most of us look to our families for support, encouragement and unconditional love. Domestic violence effects not only the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical being of the abused but everyone in the immediate and extended family. Family Wellness Month is meant to focus and stress to our communities healthy family lifestyles and habits as well. The healthier each individual family is overall, (click here PersonalWellness) the healthier we can all be as a whole! Wellness is something that should be practiced all year round and not just during the month of May. With that in mind, during the month of May ( and all year round actually!) spend more time with your family and appreciate those closest to you.
“No matter what you’ve done for yourself or for humanity, if you can’t look back on having given love and attention to your own family, what have you really accomplished?” – Lee Iacocca
